It is our pleasure to share their life stories and legacies to bring their brilliance and beauty to inspire through their own words and actions.

Augusta Ada Lovelace (December 10, 1815 - November 27, 1852) “The more I study, the more insatiable do I feel my genius for it to be.” The English woman who wrote the first computer program and imagined and designed how machines could process more than numbers including art and music.

Katherine Johnson (August 26, 1918 - February 24, 2020) "Everything was so new – the whole idea of going into space was new and daring. There were no textbooks, so we had to write them." African American woman who impacted the world and universe by being the pioneering NASA mathematician who calculated space flight trajectories for USA's 1961 first spaceflight and then safeguarded 1962's John Glenn's orbit of the Earth. She is honored in the film Hidden Figures.

Alice Augusta Ball (July 24, 1892 - December 31, 1916) "I work and I work and still it seems that I have done nothing" high school yearbook quote. African American chemist who discovered the revolutionary treatment for leprosy. Broke many gender and racial barriers throughout her short 24 year lifetime.
